Elle se reconna\u00eet \u00e0 ses longs poils soyeux et gris (sous loupe binoculaire) sur fond noir et \u00e0 son abdomen rouge.<br \/>\nCette esp\u00e8ce originaire d\u2019Australie a fait l\u2019objet de recherches par l\u2019INRA d\u2019Antibes qui a effectu\u00e9 des l\u00e2ch\u00e9s inoculatifs en septembre 1986 dans un verger de cl\u00e9mentiniers lourdement infest\u00e9 par la Cochenille noire de l\u2019olivier (<em>Saissetia oleae<\/em>), situ\u00e9 au Conservatoire botanique de l&rsquo;\u00eele de Porquerolles.<br \/>\nC\u2019est de l\u00e0 qu\u2019elle a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 envahir le territoire fran\u00e7ais.
